Eatonville, Washington

We just got back yesterday from Washington state. Chris grew up in Eatonville and much of his family lives there. We had a great time visiting with everyone and showing off the kids. It was nice to get out of the cold for awhile too. Our trip started out with a bit of bad news. The starter went out on our plane. This was discovered after we had all loaded onto the plane and were waiting to take off. So once we got back off of the plane we were told that we would have to wait for another plane to take us to Seattle which should arrive in 3 hours. Ugh, 3 hours in the airport with 4 young kids. It actually wasn't too bad. We saw some friends from church and visited a bit with them. The kids played on the ...hmmm, what do you call it? a level escalator? you know, the belt that moves along the floor so that you can walk twice as fast. The boys also had fun flying with Daddy by the plane that is hanging in gate area.
Crawling under the chairs...Racing eachother... So the time did pass rather quickly, but we were happy to finally board the plane again and get going!
The day after we arrived we had a family get together at Grandma and Grandpa Boness' house. About 40 people came and we had such a great time catching up with people we hadn't seen in forever.
We also were able to visit the Great Wolf Lodge. This place is so awesome for kids. It is a indoor water park and totally geared for families. We went with Grandpa Mike and had a blast! This will definitely be a stop we make from now on when visiting family in the future. This picture is of a clock tower they had in the middle of the lobby. They had a story time at 8pm here every night and the kids were to come in their pajamas. So cute!
One of our favorite days was the day we all took a walk in Rasmussen's field, which is right next to Grammy's house. It was a beautiful warm day. We were able to get some great pictures from that day. Auntie Chenelle and their cousin Gracie were able to join us that day too.

This next picture shows an anthill. That mound was covered in little black ants, pretty cool for the kids to see. Tucker had just finished doing a little study of ants in homeschool before we went down so seeing a real live ant hill was almost like a science lab for him.

We also went to a kiddy fishing pond. That was the first time I ever did anything like that. These ponds were packed with hungry trout. They attacked the bait on the hook almost like piranha's. Every one of the kids pulled several fish out of the pond. Even Raegan pulled some trout out. She was so independant about it too. She didn't want any help and she held on to that pole with everything she had. It was so cute!
We had a great time and we are already looking forward to our next visit!

Not me!!! I was worried about that when the kids were pulling in all those fish too. Luckily, Grandpa Mike took them all home. Whew!
